How to Bulk Update Localized Webflow CMS Content
Received a spreadsheet containing updated Spanish descriptions for 400 existing products.
You don't want to rebuild the collection or touch the English, French, or German content.
You only want to update Spanish.
That's the workflow Smart Sync handles.
Select the Webflow locale you want to update
Smart Sync reads the locales available in the connected Webflow project.
Before importing the content, you select the locale you're working with.
The imported data is then prepared specifically for that locale.
This makes it possible to run a bulk CMS update without treating every localized version of an item as a separate manual task.
Import your localized content
The localized data can be imported from CSV or Excel.
For example:

Smart Sync reads the existing CMS collection first and uses the imported data to determine which items already exist and what needs to change.
You can then map each column to the corresponding Webflow CMS field.
Update existing localized CMS items
For existing items, Smart Sync can match incoming content against the CMS and prepare the required updates.
This means a workflow such as:
500 existing products → Spanish descriptions updated → other locales unchanged
doesn't require editing 500 CMS items manually.
The update is scoped to the locale selected for that operation.
Create new CMS items across locales
Localization also matters when you're adding new content.
Instead of creating an item manually and then repeating the process for each language, Smart Sync can prepare the localized content as part of the same CMS workflow.

Webflow localization without editing items one by one
The goal isn't to replace Webflow Localization.
It's to make large content operations inside localized Webflow projects easier.
If a collection has 20 items, manual editing may be fine.
If it has 200, 500 or 1,000 items across several locales, the problem changes.
