CMS Smart Sync respects your privacy and only accesses information necessary to provide its functionality.
Information We Access
When you install and use CMS Smart Sync, the app may access information from your Webflow account required to provide CMS synchronization features, including:
- Webflow CMS Collections
- CMS Collection fields
- CMS Collection items
- Workspace or site information required for the integration
- Data you voluntarily upload to the app, such as CSV or Excel files
- Text or instructions you provide when using AI-assisted features
How We Use Information
Information accessed through CMS Smart Sync is used only to provide the app's functionality, including:
- Loading Webflow CMS Collections and fields
- Mapping uploaded data to CMS fields
- Creating and updating CMS items
- Validating data before synchronization
- Generating requested text through AI-assisted features
We do not sell your personal information or CMS data.
Uploaded Data
Files uploaded to CMS Smart Sync are processed for the purpose of importing, reviewing, mapping, or synchronizing data with Webflow.
To help recover unsynced work after a refresh or expired session, CMS Smart Sync may temporarily store imported and review data locally in your browser using localStorage or IndexedDB. Recovery data is retained for up to 7 days. When the app opens, expired recovery data and data associated with a different Webflow site or installation are automatically removed. You can also delete saved recovery data at any time using the “Clear saved drafts” control in the app.
Third-Party Services
CMS Smart Sync relies on Webflow APIs to interact with your Webflow CMS.
AI-assisted functionality may use third-party AI services to process text submitted specifically for AI generation.
Those services may process data according to their respective privacy and security practices.
CMS Smart Sync integrates with Webflow to access and update CMS content.
The AI Text feature uses the OpenAI API. When you use this feature, the text and instructions required to generate your requested content are sent to OpenAI for processing.
OpenAI API inputs and outputs are not used to train OpenAI models by default.
CMS Smart Sync only sends data to OpenAI when you use an AI-powered feature. Regular CSV or Excel imports and CMS field mapping do not require AI processing.

AI Text
CMS Smart Sync includes an optional AI-assisted text generation feature powered by the OpenAI API.
Enter your instructions, choose the CMS field where the generated text should be used, and generate the content.
You can review the generated text before syncing it to Webflow. AI-generated content is not written to your CMS automatically.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed through CMS Smart Sync and limit access to the functionality required to operate the service.
Your Control
You control which Webflow sites and Collections CMS Smart Sync can access through the permissions granted during installation.
You may uninstall the app or revoke its access through your Webflow account.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as CMS Smart Sync evolves. Any changes will be published on this page.
